The EVOMED disposable Circular Stapler (OCS-V) places a circular double staggered row of titanium staples, resecting excess tissue and creating a circular anastomosis. The anvil may be separated by fully winding out the shaft using the black adjustable wingnut knob and detaching according to surgical technique. The stapler may only be fired once and may not be reloaded.
The OCS is designed as a single instrument that achieves a large diameter anastomotic ring in tissues of varying thicknesses ina range of 1.8 to 2.2mm, improving precision and control in the surgeon’s hands. The instrument will only fire once the relevant tissue compression and staple height is determined by the surgeon, as viewed in the tissue compression indicator. Clinical outcome is assured as the stapler creates perfect ‘B’ shaped staples consistently along the staple line.
The EVOMED disposable circular stapler is indicated for the creation of end to end, side to side and end to side anastomosis throughout the alimentary canal. It may be highly beneficial in areas where manual suturing is difficult, such as low rectal and high oesophageal positions.
